Mandate:
The Magic Word Theatre is a Canadian performance company devoted to theatrical experimentation. The stage is our lab, the stories our hypotheses, the audience our guinea pigs. Give us your trust; we'll give you our best.
The Artists:
Magic Word's most recent production, Grey Matter, was written and produced by Calgary director Jamie Dunsdon and Vancouver writer Mallory Gallant. The show was performed by Samantha Duff, Paul Welch, and Helen Knight.
Past, Present, and Future:
The Magic Word Theatre was formed in 2011 by Jamie Dunsdon, as a masthead for projects that may not fit within the mandates of existing organizations. Magic Word's first production, Grey Matter, toured to Edmonton and Vancouver during August/September, 2012. Grey Matter will enter a second phase of development in 2013, followed by a presentation in Calgary.
Our second production is currently in the early days of development, and until the details are ironed out, a genuine secret.
